I will work with all household members so that everyone is on board with the same training routine. You will learn how to train your dog in basic foundation skills as well as some really cool tricks to show off to your friends.

Work on specific behavior or training issues at a pace comfortable for you and your dog.

Emotional Support Wet Nose Dog Training

Emotional Support Dog Training

An emotional support animal is any animal that provides emotional support alleviating one or more symptoms or effects of a person's disability. Emotional support dogs do not require any unique or extensive training, making it hard for some people to believe the legitimacy of your need for such an animal. Together we will focus on teaching the basics of good manners and obedience, strengthen the bond between you and your dog at home and out in the community. I highly recommend that you and your dog take the AKC-Canine Good Citizen exam. Please see the ACK-CGC section for more details.

Therapy Dog Training

Do you have some free time during your week? If so, volunteering as a therapy dog/handler team is a rewarding experience. This training will prepare you for the Alliance of Therapy Dog's (ATD) certification. Any dog one year of age or older, of any breed, with the right obedience skills and temperament, and who enjoys meeting new people are welcome to take the ATD certification exam.

The ATD tester/observer will guide you and your dog in the fine art of visiting with people safely and enjoyably. All of the testing components to becoming certified with the ATD are entirely free of charge, but there is a fee to the actual registration with the ATD's, which you will pay directly to them. Of course, there are other organizations that you can register with to help you prepare as well.
